Day 2 of the County Championships was equally as impressive as Day 1 with athletes represented across most disciplines.
(U9 Girls) had a great runs & jumps for their first season at the track – well done getting stronger every week.

(U14 Girls & Boys) Ava Coyle had a great day at he track takin 1st place in high jump with a PB, and securing 2nd in both 80m & 200m, Sarah Murphy also put in a strong performance and was unlucky not to medal.

There were some excellent performances from the club in the Relays and Multi Events in CIT on the 8th May. The club had strong numbers on the day with seven teams participating in the relays and 8 athletes who took part in the Multi Event throughout the afternoon.

After a long morning, there was great stamina shown by the athletes who competed in the Multi Events throughout the afternoon.
The U 12 girls had 5 competitors and took pride of place for the afternoon! Lauren Green (2nd) narrowly missed out on Gold taking Silver and Caoimhe O’Donoghue (3rd) Bronze on the day. Nicole Buckley (4th), Gaby Bowen (6th), Alijandra Retre (9th). Well done girls.
Well done also to first timers Boys U12 Joey O’Callaghan and Girls U13 Sarah Fitzgerald (7th) and to Girls U14 Rosemary Buckley (4th) who put in a steady performance.
What an amazing day on day one of the County Championships in CIT last Sunday. Every athlete jumped, threw and ran their heart out and did so well in all events. With over 1300 athletes taking part there was great turn out from the club. We are very proud of each and everyone’s efforts!
The club was thrilled to have athletes across all ages and disciplines and it was particularly good for the Club to have first timers in the County U9’s. It’s a great experience for them and they did the club proud. Well done!

The U10’s put in good runs in the sprint heats and the 500m but with tough competition on the day they were unlucky not to medal.

The U12 Girls are going from strength to strength and were tough competition on the day. Grace Coyle jumped an amazing 4.17m to easily secure 1st place in Long Jump. 2nd & 3rd were determined by their 2nd jump distances and Gaby Bowen secured 2nd while Katie O’Regan hurdled her way to 2nd position. At the end of a long day Nicole Buckley and Lauren Green put in solid runs to take 1st & 2nd in the 600m respectively. Kate Farley and Caoimhe O’Donoghue put in strong performances on the day great effort girls.
