Athletes were lucky to have yet another dry, but cold day, for the Munster Juvenile Even Age, Novice & U23 Championships on Sunday 23rd Oct in Carriag na bhFear.

In the U10 Boys, 1000m Conor O’Donoghue had a strong race securing 14th place out of 157 athletes on the day. True grit & determination was displayed by the remainder of the team who also ran well especially as Ollie Buckley (34th), Harry (67th) & Cathal (21st) Walsh were all running up an age! The U10 Boys were rewarded with 4th place team spot.

Next up was the U12 Girls 2000m Lauren Green , Caoimhe O’Donoghue, Grace Coyle and Nicole & Amy Buckley. In a pack of 143 strong athletes on a fast flat course the girls had a great run and finished strong. Nicole Buckley came in 15th and subsequently secured her spot in the Cork Team for the Nationals in November. Congratulations Nicole! Well done to the other girls Lauren Green (39th) Amy Buckley (44th) Grace Coyle (61st) & Caoimhe O’Donoghue (82nd) as they secured 7th team spot.

Ryan McCarthy (51st), Michael O’Driscoll (59th) & Joey O’Callaghan (60th) represented the Boys U12 2000m in a pack 147 athletes. Consistent strong running from these athletes. Great to see Joey O’Callaghan holding strong in middle of the pack. Onwards & upwards guys.
